On Road / Ocean

The work of this talented Korean woman has enjoyed widening interest on both coasts of the United States. Lee's stark, archetypal imagery is punctuated by her method of hand-applying liquid emulsion to heavily textured rice-paper which gives the pieces a strong, visceral quality. This beautifully produced exhibition catalogue presents two bodies of work, "On Road", work made in rural Korea, and "Ocean", a group of images about the intersection of land and sea.
