What The Fuck!

This book brings together photographs from all over the world, collected over the course of wanderings on the Web. Between personal curiosity cabinet and documentary corpus, this book offers a contemporary vision of amateur photography and questions as much about the place, function and sharing of today's vernacular photography as about the new social relationships it illustrates.

On social networks and websites from which these photographs are derived, the acronym WTF often precedes content to signify the horror it causes. This interjection expresses as much the misunderstanding as the discomfort of the "voyeur" in the face of these images. Their accumulation underlines the crazy race to share "extraordinary" content for an anesthetized audience and raises the question of the dilution of meaning.
