By looking down at the asphalt – a conscious act of seeing – a place is awakened through its own fleeting motions. Immersing yourself in this way creates a state akin to a visual breath, where everything asserts its existence.
The staple is allowed on the picture; it opens up a space and holds the memory together – the asphalt becomes softer.
 
Björn Allemann lives and works in Zurich. Pigeon and Puddle is his second publication following Am Platz ein Baum. 

Allemann decided to pursue photography during an extended stay in Paris in 2001. 
In his work, he explores the concepts of value and disregard through conceptual street photography, questioning their structures.
 
Christopher Troester lives and works as a designer in Cologne. He is the co‑founder of CTMS, a newly established design studio also based in Cologne.
